Stay With Me

A small note: You can read slowly. There's no hurry.

Something is physically wrong

💜

You don't have to believe me.

People will tell you that you're loved, that you're valuable, that it gets better. Maybe you've heard it so many times it's become noise. Maybe it feels like a lie told by people who don't know what your life is actually like.

I'm not going to argue with you about it. You know your life; I don't.

Here's the only thing I'd offer instead: you don't have to be convinced of anything to stay tonight. Believing you matter is not a requirement for surviving until morning. You can think all of this is nonsense, roll your eyes at every soft word on this site, and still be here tomorrow.

Staying doesn't mean agreeing. It just means not deciding yet.

And if some part of you did want one of those things to be true — that's allowed too. You don't have to admit it to anyone, including yourself.

Things I won't do

  • Insist you're loved when you can't feel it.
  • Promise you it gets better, because I don't know that.
  • Tell you what this would do to other people.
  • Treat your reasons as symptoms.
  • Act like being talked out of something is the same as being helped.

What's left is smaller and more honest: stay tonight. Decide nothing permanent while you're this tired.

A small note: Soft landing. No conclusions needed.
